Contest for young scientists
Contest for Young Scientists is scheduled within the framework of the 8th International IUPAC Symposium «Macro- and Supramolecular Architectures and Materials: Multifunctional Materials and Structures» (MAM-17).
The aim of the contest is to identify creative young people in the rapidly expanding interdisciplinary field of macromolecular and supramolecular architectures and materials as well as multifunctional realms of their application. Organizing and Program Committee of the Symposium will hold the contest.
Young scientists, specialists (not older than 35 years) from organizations, academic institutions and enterprises of various agencies and forms of ownership, as well as graduate students and students of higher educational institutions with education and skills in the field of supramolecular chemistry, biophysics, biomedicine and bioengineering can become the participants of the Contest.
Dates of holding the contest: December 15, 2016 – June 9, 2017
Deadline for submitting works: February 1, 2017
ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE CONTEST
Participants of the contest may choose one of the following topics:
- Catalysis and applications
- Membrane technologies
- Energy conversion and storage
- Materials for next generation
- manufacturing processes
- Biomedicine and bio-engineering
- Macromolecular design
- Engineered materials with high performance
- Nanomaterials and multifunctions
- Chemo- & biosensors
- Environmental applications
- General topics.
Work is submitted directly by persons involved in its preparation. Materials submitted to the contest must comply with the requirements to abstracts and papers provided for the Symposium.
Each participant may submit no more than 2 (two) works on different subjects.
Projects will be assessed based on the following criteria: relevance and focus of the project, validity of methodology, scientific and practical significance, quality and completeness of the factual material, quality of the project design. During the oral presentation at the Symposium additional parameters of the author’s qualification, extent of his or her participation in the project will be also assessed. Each criterion is scored from 1 (one) to 5 (five) points.
Each member of the jury fills in a protocol for each participant of the Symposium. All points will be summed up and divided by the number of members of the jury, that is, the results are counted based on the average score.
The jury will assess only projects of the authors participating in the event.
The jury will decide three winners of the Contest. Winners of the Contest will be awarded with the Certificates of participation and recognition gifts. Upon the jury’s decision, selected innovative projects will be the subject to incentive awards as well. Scientific and Organizing Committee of the Symposium will determine the amount of the incentive awards.
Summarizing and awarding of the winners will take place on June 9, 2017 at the closing of the Symposium.
The best works will be published and recommended for practical use.
CONTEST JURY
Organizing Committee of the Symposium approves the membership of the jury. There are 5-7 members in the jury. The President of the jury is selected among its members.
Projects are submitted to the Organizing Committee through the website of the event: mam-17.org.
If you would like to participate in the Contest while submitting your abstracts, please, select “yes” in the line “participation in the contest”. The participant’s name should be the first one in the projects submitted for the contest! The presenting author must ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of abstracts submitted to the Secretariat.
